Bleh.
I don't understand why people make such a big deal out of Christmas. Shouldn't we be making a bigger deal out of Easter? It seems to me that the fact that Jesus died for our sins and took a punishment we should have had would be more important than when he was born.

Besides it's a known fact that Jesus was NOT BORN ON DECEMBER 25TH. Christmas was originally a pagan holiday and of course we Christians took it and manipulated it into a Christian holiday.

Ugghhh.

Sorry if I'm a scroog. Maybe it's kmart doing it to me. I was more excited about Christmas eve. I like Christmas eve.

Oh and I heard someone complaining they only got ten presents. EXCUSE ME? I've never got more than four and I have NEVER EVER EVER complained. Talk about being selfish and ungratefull.

Anyway this was an alright Christmas despite my scroogieness. I got some purfume and a bracelet from my grandma (along with some socks and a shirt...FROM KMART). Then my mom got me some body lotions and chapstick from avon. I was supposed to get a ring too but apparentely they sold out so I'll get it around Jan 3. I got a zumiez gift card from my bro, and Stadust from Erica and Nick.

The only problem. I don't think that Vaio laptops can take screencaps. SUCKS SO HARD.

Ugh.

Oh well.

But yeah.

Christmas has lost its glitter finally. Maybe it will be restored next year when I don't work at kmart. I swear THAT IS THE REASON of my scroogieness. Even though it is true that Jesus wasn't born on December 25th..and we should be celebrating the fact he died for our sins more than his birth.

Ehhhh.

Perhaps you could call it a sanctification rather than a manipulation. And secondly, Catholics (like myself) actually believe He was born on Dec. 25th and would like to know the cold hard facts behind the Christ wasn't born on the day of His own mass (Christ's-mass, Christmas) myth. We tend to make a much bigger deal (such as it goes) of Easter. There are only tweleve days of Christmas, and fifty days of Easter. We fast for a month and a half before Easter and only a month before Christmas. Mass for Christmas day is only about an hour and a half long, but Easter Vigil can go on for four hours. And we still celebrate Eucharist during Christmas, which is the ultimate thanksgiving for Christ's sacrifice. Besides, the incarnation of Christ is what made His sacrifice possible...

Jus' sayin'...

Okay, so I recant. I googled it and it appears there actually is a great deal of argument over the actual birthdate of Christ. But really, to say we're all out celebrating the festival of Sol is a bit much 1700 years later, right?

Yeah, I know. :/ I should have just said I'm fed up with all the hyprocracy that comes around Christmas. Everybody talking about 'peace on earth' and 'goodwill towards men'..but as soon as Christmas is over, everyone goes back to the way they were.

And like I said Kmart has jaded me. I never want to work in retail again during the holidays. :[

One of my friends used to work at K-Mart. I think she would totally understand what's up right now.
